The 2024 World Choir Games opened at Spark Arena in Auckland with a vibrant showcase of music and performance, marking the beginning of ten days of choral celebration across Aotearoa.
Directed by Malia Johnston, the ceremony featured a powerful Māori haka, performances by Ria Hall and the Auckland Gospel Choir, and high-energy choreography from Freshman’s Dance Crew. With singers from around the world, the event brought together voices and cultures in a shared expression of joy, connection and the universal language of music.
