Rodney Bell And Guests is a new development tested in May 2024 at the Auckland Concert Chamber with support from Auckland Live and Creative New Zealand.

Rodney Bell and Guests celebrates the improvisation expertise of multi-dimensional artist Rodney Bell. A celebration of his life through connection with other artists Rodney is set up to dance or perform with 10 artists. He does not know who they are. They sit in the audience. They also have no idea who the other artists in the programme or which order they will perform - they called into the ‘Dance Ring’ through video instructions. They perform to music played live by Jol Mulholland. Rodney Bell and Guests celebrates human connection through the honesty of improvisation and the artists generosity towards each other ‘in the moment’. Rodney follows each performative moment with stories and philosophy based on his life experiences.
